What’s the difference between creating a tag and saving a filter?
Last updated: July 28, 2025
Tags and filters both help you organize and revisit segments, but they work differently:
Filters (Dynamic)
Filters pull up results based on live, current data.
If you save a filter, you can rerun it anytime—but the results may change as data updates (e.g., new menus, openings, closings).
Best for tracking sales segments, territories, and criteria-based workflows.
Tags (Static)
Tags are tied directly to the company or location and persist over time.
If menus or data change, the tag remains, allowing you to revisit the same list.
Useful for tracking changes over time or building fixed lists.
Example Use Cases
Track new opportunities: Tag all restaurants with “pizza” in March 2025. In April, run the same filter and add “Tag: No Tag” to identify newly listed pizza restaurants.
Sales territories: Save filters by region, concept type, or segment to organize your territory view without manually reselecting criteria.
Use filters when you want flexible, up-to-date views. Use tags when you want to preserve a snapshot or compare past and present data.
